For authors

Do you have a book in you that the church needs?

Kingdom Scribe Publishing is looking for writers with something true to say and the craft to say it well. If that is you — whether you have a finished manuscript or a chapter and a conviction — we would like to read it.

Submit your manuscript What we're looking for

There is a particular kind of book we keep hoping to find. It is honest about how hard life actually is. It takes Scripture seriously rather than decoratively. It has been lived before it was written. And it is written well enough that a reader forgets they are reading.

Those books are rarer than they should be — often because the people carrying them have never been invited to write, or were told the market was closed to them. It is not closed here.

We are a small house, and deliberately so. We take on few titles because every one of them gets real editorial attention, a cover that belongs on a shelf, and companion material that keeps the message working after the last page. If we say yes to you, we are saying yes properly.

What you get

More than a print run

Real editorial care

Structural and line editing that strengthens your argument and protects your voice. We edit with you, not over you.

Design worth the words

A professionally designed cover and interior, typeset for both print and digital reading.

Worldwide distribution

Print and eBook distribution through Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and more, via Draft2Digital.

Companion material built in

Workbooks, study guides, printable tools, and QR-linked reader hubs — the thing that turns a book into a journey.

A publisher who answers

You will deal with a person, not a queue. Clear timelines, honest feedback, and a straight answer either way.

Your name kept whole

Transparent terms, plainly explained before you sign. You keep your voice, your convictions, and your dignity.

Our shelves

What we're looking for

We publish across four shelves. If your book sits somewhere near one of them, send it.

Devotionals & teaching narratives

Daily readings and story-driven teaching that meet ordinary readers in ordinary weeks. Warm, unhurried, and biblically serious.

Marriage & family

Honest, practical guidance for couples and parents — written by people who have done the work, not just read about it.

Christian leadership & stewardship

Books for those carrying real responsibility: leaders, board members, business owners, and anyone learning to handle money, power, or people faithfully.

Faith & the African context

We have a particular interest in writing that speaks credibly into South African and broader African realities — family obligation, community, money, and ministry — without flattening them.

What we are not the right home for

So we don't waste your time: we are not currently taking on fiction or poetry, prosperity-teaching manuscripts, books built mainly to promote a personal brand, or material that attacks other believers or traditions. We also cannot publish work that is substantially unedited — if it is a first draft, tell us, and we will say honestly whether it is close.

The process

What happens after you send it

1. You submit. Fill in the form below. It takes about ten minutes and goes straight to our submissions inbox.

2. We acknowledge within two business days. A real reply from a real person, confirming we have it.

3. We read properly. Expect four to six weeks. We read the writing, not just the proposal — so it takes as long as reading takes.

4. You get a straight answer. Either an offer and a conversation about terms, or a decline with the reason. If we decline but think the book has legs elsewhere, we will say so.

We treat every submission as confidential and we do not share your material outside our editorial team.

Submit

Tell us about your book

Nothing here needs to be perfect. We are reading for substance and voice, not polish.

Prefer to send a file? Submit this form first, then email your manuscript to manuscripts@kingdomscribe.co.za and we'll match it up.

By submitting you agree that we may keep your details on file to respond to your enquiry. We will never share your manuscript outside our editorial team.

A word before you send

Write it anyway.

If you are hesitating because you are not a "real" writer, or because someone more qualified could say it better — send it anyway. The scribe's work has never been about being impressive. It has been about being faithful with what you were given to say.

“Every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.” — Matthew 13:52
